KfW 40 promotion: secure favourable interest loans!

What is a KfW 40 Efficiency House?

A KfW 40 Efficiency House consumes only 40 % of the primary energy of a standard new build. Optimised insulation and modern technology reduce heating and electricity costs while promoting climate protection.

Which subsidy programmes are currently available

Anyone who decides in favour of a KfW 40 Efficiency House can take advantage of the KfW Bank’s promotional loans.

The following programmes are currently available:

  • Loan no. 297 – for owner-occupiers
  • Loan no. 298 – for investors

Advantages of the promotion (as of 12/03/2025):

  • Subsidised loan from 2.48 % effective annual interest rate
  • Up to 35 years term and up to 10 years fixed interest rate
  • For private individuals, companies and investors
  • Up to €150,000 per residential unit
    Financing for new builds and first-time purchases
  • Can be used as a substitute for equity capital as it covers a large part of the costs as a low-interest loan.
